Shopify LTV: Cross-Border Customer Value and Cohorts

Published: Editorial review: 2026-08-15

Shopify LTV is not a customer’s historical spend multiplied by a growth factor. A cross-border brand should define customer, order, refund, margin, fulfilment, marketing, currency, window, and repeat attribution before choosing cohorts, reports, or a model. LTV supports decisions; it is not a promise of future revenue and must state market differences and missing data.

Metrics and cohorts

Separate revenue, post-refund net revenue, gross margin, contribution, and support cost and cohort by first-market, channel, product, time, and language. Record repurchase window, pause, return, promotion, FX, and deletion rules. Do not mix one large order with repeat value. Backtest assumptions on historical cohorts and label small samples.

SEO and GEO

Use Shopify LTV, cross-border customer value, and cohort analysis intent. FAQs answer revenue definition, refunds, margin, market cohorts, sample size, and forecast limits. Link to data warehouse and Shopify Analytics. Do not promise a fixed LTV or ROI.

FAQ

Should LTV use revenue or profit?

State revenue, refund, product, fulfilment, and marketing cost definitions rather than one number.

Can markets be compared directly?

Align currency, tax, fulfilment, and repeat window first.

Can a small sample be forecast?

Only with explicit assumptions and uncertainty and stronger human review.

How does LTV content support GEO?

Name customer, definition, time, cost, cohort, and limits.
